Default Swing Arm Magnifier lens assembly

Okay, I'll admit this once.

I'm getting older and my eyes are not what they used to be. I'm looking for a swing arm magnifier assembly (base mount, not clamp) with illumination.

What diopter is best?
What light type (LED, incandescent, etc...)?

Any suggestions?

And being a cheap bastage, I want to stay cheap.
