Hey guys. I've been doing a lot of research about this particular gun, and posted some threads on it as well; and I also plan to buy one sometime soon. Anyway, I'd really like some help regarding something, and I thought a person familiar with gunsmithing would be a great person to talk to. So I hope that this thread catches someone's eye.

Anyway, I did some research and found out that MN 91/30's are sighted to 300 Meters instead of 100 Yards. I had a few ideas on how to fix the problem, like soldering some extra metal onto the tip of the front sight. However, I'm not sure how much to add-on to it. The source of this information suggested that to do what I'm doing, you're supposed to add .08" inches to the front sight. I may sound stupid now, but Math was never a strength of mine. Are there any of you able to suggest what I should do?

No real need to solder anything to the post. A hollow Q-Tip shaft, a roll pin or a length of electrical insulating tubing will all work. All you need to do is add .25 inches or so to the post and trim it until you get the bore down to a 100yd zero. Actually, a little extra post length will allow you to use the longer range positions on the rear sight so that there's no need to lay your face on the stock to get a good sight picture.
