I have 2 p226 1 is a .40 cal the other a .357 sig. can I interchange the barrels and recoil springs because my .40 has an ascessary rail and I would like to use its frame for my .357 sig

I have 2 P226's also and I swap the barrels with no problems. I leave the recoil springs in the original slide. I have been told the 40 and 357 sig springs are comparable. I shoot my reloads in both with no problems.
