Default Scope base screw hole spacing.

I have a Whitworth 30-06 built on a P-17 action. I have a rough idea on the mount it needs ( a redfield or Leupold type 3 hole mount). However it is not listed anywhere. Next problem is I only have a machinist ruler to measure the screw hole spacing. The spacing is approx .880 1st screw to 2nd screw, and just under 5 inches from 1st to 3rd hole (about 4.98 inches). Any help would be greatly appreciated ( I would bring it to the gunsmith but its a 6 hour round trip)
