Default Savage Mod. 111 270 Win.

I have a savage mod 111 270 win
The Clip will not stay in. It clicks in not very well, but when fired the clip falls out.
There is a little spring ¼ “about 1” long that came out and I slid it back in the slot (See 1st pic you can see the flat spring bare metal in the forground).
I would appreciate any help

First State,

I would suggest getting a new magazine. The picture of magazine and the spring sure show signs of wear. The number one #1 cause of rifle malfunctions including what you described is the magazine. You can get a new magazine catch spring by calling Savage that one seems to be slightly deformed and bent?
I would try a new magazine that is my bet! But I would also replace the spring while I was at it.
