Round stuck AR 15

I got a round jammed in my AR. Any solutions on how to remove it safely? It's wedged in there pretty good.

Live round or spent round and is it stuck in the chamber? Pics please

Wedged where? Assuming its in the chamber. A wood dowel and make sure you stay clear of the muzzle.

Yes, it's seated and stuck in the chamber. Not sure if the round is live or not. The primer has been struck. A little hesitant to look down the barrel with a flashlight. I will post pics tonight if I can.

DONT LOOK DOWN THE BARREL EVER!!!.. try the dowel idea and wear gloves, glasses.

If the bolt is not stuck I suggest point the barrel in a safe direction and reclose the bolt hit the FA a couple times with your hand and try to extract it with the charging lever again . If that fails pull the bolt and charging handle and get a dowel and try to knock it out from the top. If that doesnt work I suggest taking to to your smith and let him deal with the problem

If you havent ripped the rim off thecase youcan try the mortar technique. Go outside, safety on, make sure your in a area where you wont get in trouble for discharging a firearm, make sure bolt is fully forward, hold the charging handle like your trying to charge the gun, while pulling the handle rap the butt of the rifle on the ground. It should dislodge the stuck case.

If the bolt skips off the case rim its wood dowel time with the bcg removed.

Pour a small bottle of Hoppes no9 down the end of barrel and stand upright in a corner overnight. That should loosen it

Separate the upper and lower, then I agree with several other posts, pour a solvent does the barrel and let it sit, it usually will loosen the round and should kill the powder.
Then you can safely tap it out with a cleaning rod etc..

There is also a tool sold specifically for this that I purchased years ago from Brownell's but it is pricy.

Good luck.

pouring solvent in the bore is not going to penetrate the case to bullet seal and get into the powder charge. all its going to do is make a mess. its not the rusty bolt or nut type stuck.

my question is: is the case a steel casing??

if so, is your chamber chrome lined??

if not then do not shoot anymore steel cased through that barrel once you get it unstuck
