Default Repair of Remington 512

Hello all,

Long time reader, first time poster.

I was cleaning and repairing my dad's old Remington 512 for him as a gift so he can shoot with his grandkids. I got a few schematics online and took apart the trigger assembly and the carrier assembly. Got the whole thing back together except for one small piece. Looking at http://stevespages.com/pdf/remington_512.pdf on the second page I think it is Component part #21. But on this schematic and another one directly from Remington (http://www.remington.com/~/media/Files/Owners-Manuals/Model%20512.ashx), I cannot locate part #21 anywhere.

Was hoping someone could look at the pics and tell me what this thing is and where it is supposed to go.

Thanks,
Chris

The only thing that I can find right now is for the trigger return spring, but I'm still looking

If that's the part I think it is then you're right. It's part 21 cartridge stop plunger. Looks like it goes into the receiver near the front of the trigger. So when you rotate the action and pull it will act on the magazine to keep excess cartridges from coming out.

Hope this helps.

I'm just guessing (practicing research)
Cartridge stop plunger looks correct but that diagram shows it wrong.

part 15 in the Receiver insert

That would mean that either a spring is missing or it is just held in by the screw.
