I removed the trigger plate assembly from my remington 7600 pump action 30-06 to clean it and now I can't get to go back into the gun. I has to push hard on it to get it into the opening but now it won"t slide into position to replace the pins that hold it in. Anybody know a trick that I am missing?

I have one in .308. Have removed the trigger plate assy.and installed it back ....after the trigger assy. was sent off for trigger job ( 3.5 lbs). Take your time ,move the slide slightly towards the rear..push back/and up on trigger assy as you install it. It should go. If not call remington customer service ...they will talk you tru it ...
I refered to the owners manual. close the slide! looking at trigger plate assy..left to right ...tang on left end .....trigger on right end . The hammer looks like a shark fin.Below the hammer are a disconnctor and a connector . The end of disconnector must be under (below)the connector ..the hammer must be cocked . insert into reciever.Position to align holes ..tap in pins ...for align ment you may have to wiggle /push /pull . note you can download an owners manual remington .com ...quick reference page 12
