I honestly had no idea that a G18 was actually a 9mm, i thought it was a .45. And yes I'm looking for answers for a graphic novel story of mine. The other reason why I'm here is that I basically have very little knowledge about modern guns, I use to think that M4's shoot .22 as well. And by the rate my finances are, I doubt I'll get first hand experience of these guns firepower any time soon.

Join the Army...won't cost you a penny and you get to shoot all you want..j/k. Technically an M4 does shoot a .22 caliber round. That being said a .22lr rimless and a .223 remington are not the same, not even remotely. Caliber merely refers to the diameter of the round measured at the case. The other features of the .223 make the difference.

Is that 500 transferrable G-18's? It is a popular fun gun for LE agencies to acquire for demo's. Hard to say how many are "off the books".

Last I heard that was 500 total, and that was from a master armorer who has one of em.....
