Proper Grease/Lube for M1 Garand

I have recently purchased a M1 Garand Special from the CMP. The rifle is dry though and needs proper greasing. Can anybody suggest what grease I should use? Thanks

I use automotive white lithium grease on my M-14.

Use lubriplate or plastilube or bearing grease.

I prefer plastilube. It doesn't burn off or liquefy.

Any high temperature bearing grease should work just fine.

Any quality wheel bearing grease is over kill for a semi auto rifle

I'm a firm believer in overkill when it comes to lubrication, even for AK's.

A liberal application of Plastilube ensures my M1 and M14 operate smoothly.

I use Plastilube on just about everything, even my AR's and AK's.

I have run wheel bearing grease for years in all 18 of my Garands, works perfectly

Maybe so, but we're talking about miniscule amounts here. I'm pretty sure I'll have plenty left for the next set of bearings I need to pack.
