Default Problem field stripping my Springfield XD

Hi I was trying to field strip my XD9 service model after taking it to the range and I went through all the steps of locking slide turnin slide release up to 12 o clock position. Releasing slide lock then pulling trigger.... But the slide feels caught on something it took ten tries and it just slid off that one time and once again it seems stuck, am I doin something wrong have these guns been known to get caught on anything internally ?? I'm not sure what to do.

I don't honestly remember how to field strip the XD I had. But I never had a single issue with it. Sorry

Yeah I have watched YouTube videos and their XDs seem to come apart with ease... That is not the case for mine.... It's the first time I've tried to field strip it since I have bought it. So I'm wondering if it just has to be broken in?

Use some CLP... or Your favorite cleaner. Let it sit for awhile. Take it apart, clean it. Lube it with your favorite gun oil. I like Royal Purple. That's my bets advice.

I really hope that was an EMPTY mag. Don't hurry; bad stuff happens.

+1 to that. Clear and locked means no mag, no rounds especially when the takedown requires a trigger pull.

Definitely empty I'm not sure why I put the mag back in, I was using snap caps after just running through working on clearing the gun.
