New front sight?
 

Hi guys,

I picked up a Colt MK IV Series 70 in 9mm from my gunsmith.

Since this is a target pistol for me, I want to install a new set of sights, or better have them installed.

The front sight is the mil spec bump, that I just can`t really see on the 25m target distance.
If I point it out correctly, it is staked in the slide, similar to the CZ75 Pre "B" front sight.

At midway, here in germany, I have seen sight combos including a new front sight.

My question is, will the fron sight stay snug in there, or do they have a tendancy to loosen up and fall out at some time.
What is the best way to replace the front sight on the 1911 with the mil spec bump sight?

Have the sights dovetailed. They dont USUALLY wiggle loose/out but it depends on how tight your smith makes the dove tail.
