That is about the most fun I can have with my son. He is 14. We love shooting, fishing and camping. It doesn't get any better than that.

We are planing on going this october. I will probably have to grab a couple left over tags when they come out. We may hunt deer, maybe elk. Who cares as long as we get to go.

Congratulations on his first deer. Are you typing on a phone or something cause it sounds like your grammar is kind if sloppy if not. How does he handle that 7mm-08? At eight I was carrying a .243 if anything and I didn't get one until this past year.

My thirteen year old son has been around guns all his life. As a gunsmith he has watched me work on them and gone to the range with me for years. Now as poor eyesight limits my abilities my son has asked to learn to work on guns and announced his preferences run to "cowboy" guns and hunting rifles. He doesn't like " black" guns much but said he should learn to work on them too. Lol you coulda nocked me over with a flyswatter. We'll see what he prefers in a few years.

I sure wish my dad had more time to do stuff when I was growing up. He worked a full time job and my folks had a dairy farm. He worked from before dawn till after dark 7 days a week. We got to go squirrel huntin a few times but it didn't take long before I was going on my own. He was a coon hunter though. I don't think he ever got into deer or turkey.
