muzzle brake
 

Can a barrel be threaded for a muzzle brake,without using a lathe ? If not, are there any muzzle brakes that use compression /collars that work ? rifle is a remington 7600 ...barrel can be removed ,but was told its a p.i.t.a.

Best to have it threaded by a smithy. Otherwise you risk having it come off. Do it right or not it all that's my opinion.

Yes ,you are right . Would look more factory/custom and not an add on.

Brownells has a tap and die 1/28 tpi that can do this if you have the right diameter barrel.

I'd STRONGLY suggest letting a smith with a lathe do it so it'll be done right.
