I just got lucky and found a 1925 hex with all matching serials. The great thing

about these guns is you don't have to worry about "destroying history"

if you modify them, since millions were made worldwide.

Mine could have been in the Spanish revolution, and probably was

used in WWII...

Just tried cleaning the bore on my mosin for the first time. Went through with the brush and mop about 20 times and still keep pulling out dirt with the pads. Will it ever get come out clean?

DefaultMineral spirits

Try mineral spirits or buy a small amount of kerosene andmop like crazy and it come out. Another treatment is to use carbereuater spray cleaner from the breach and just keep spraying it will good right down to the metal and you Quickly have to oil the barrel.

If the barrel is disassembled, plug the muzzle and fill the barrel with boiling hot water. Let it soak for 10-15 minutes, repeat. Then run a few patches wet with mineral spirits through, let is soak 10 mins or so then clean as normal. Until you "melt" the cosmo out you'll just smear it around.
