I brought my AK to a local smith that was recommended to me to have my barrel threaded for a muzzle break. Well I was excited as could be when I went to pick it up today after work. I got there a few minutes past 5, got in and paid pretty quickly an left being Friday afternoon.
So I got home to my tapco galil style handguard, Hogue grips, an arsenal buttstock.
I started to look over the Muzzlebreak, and noticed my barrel and front sight post were all chewed up, and the top of my muzzlebreak didn't line up with at the top. Great. Strike 1.
I start to look over my new furniture (all from midway by the way) and see a nasty scratch on the side of my buttstock. Not disastrous, but not happy.
So I started fitting which I knew I would have to do, the handguard went ok and I moved onto the stock. After an hour of grinding and fitting it's still on my bench and the fit to the reciever is looking like crap.
I went,to put my gas piston back in ana realized because of the handgaurd, it tweeked the gas block and won't slide in.

So overall I'm pretty upset with the whole situation. Well see how it turns out tomorrow but I'm thinking between the smiths hackjob and my struggle with the furniture I just dumped alot of money out the window.
Live an learn I guess. Should have just bought an arsenal from the start.

Damn, that sucks man.. Had a bad exp with a smith once, he ruined my XD9...
I've since found a much more professional smith to deal with.. Hate that happened.. Try to remain calm while explaining if you can.
