Looking For Firing Pin Churchill Highlander .270 Cal.
any one know where I can find this little digger and its little freind mr. spring...? Butterknife bolt action intermittent missfire put the same
ammo in my Rem. 7600 SemiAuto and fires normally...
Indention in the primer looks to be insufficiant to do the job...

Thank you M14sRock, didn't realize I was quoting that wrong had a 7600 but a freind and
I traded. Kinda supprised at your knowelege of the remingtons most don't like them
but have never had one let me down EVER. Any way what do you think of the possibility
that My friends spring is clogged up and there is no real need for a fireing pin... have
you delt with this Churchill Highlander model at all...??

Take the bolt apart and clean the firing pin channel.
This is one area that should never be oiled.
A quick Google reveals this is made in Italy, and Numrich does not have any parts available,.

I like the Rem pumps. Have a 7600 carbine in '06 now, but have owned several of the Rem pumps and autos over the years. The Benoits use Rem pumps exclusively and they are the most successful deer hunting family out there.
I have not used your Churchill, but if it is leaving a dent in the primer the firing pin/striker is probably not broken. So the spring is either fouled and gummed up, or too weak. Easiest fix to try will be changing out the original (import) spring with one by a reputable company, Wolff.

Have already ordered the spring from Wolf thanks to you and will pull the pin and
clean out the channel. I didn't see anything that said I'm worn on the Pin myself
but I dont have the knowelege or the vanity to say it is the problem so I will listen
to my betters and try the Spring before Stupidity sets in... hehe..

It sounds like it needs cleaning and a new firing pin spring to me too. Be careful when changing that spring-it's a booger to compress.

Not exactly looking forward to it at all... have seen what it was like to re-cock in order
to get it back into the rifle once it had been released.... ooops...
any tricky Idea's to make it easier than taking the striker off a bic Lighter for the
flint?....
