Glock 17 gen 2 question
When cocking a gen 2 glock 17 do u have to hold down the slide lock when performing this action cause every time i do with an empty clip it locks itself but ofcourse if i hold lock dwn goes allthe way its a new used gun i had a gen 3 g20but got ride of it very inconvenient shot but yea thanks

The reason you have to hold the slide release is because it holds open on the last round. If you are using a loaded magazine instead of a empty magazine you shouldn't have to release the slide

It is that pesky "clip" that is causing the problem. Take it out and discard it. Use a genuine Glock MAGAZINE and it will work much better.
There is no reason to rack the slide with an empty magazine in place. Either no magazine or a full one. Nothing in between. |
I didn't know that Glocks used "clips". I thought they used magazines.
OP, your firearm is working as it is suppose to. Do you have access to an owner's manual? Here is a link to one: http://www.scribd.com/doc/3672771/Glock-Manual-17-17L-19-20-21-22-23-24 |
