I would like to know about the ammo you are using.
Since I see some indication of reloading in the picture, I would want to ensure that Pistol Primers were not used in error.
Try again with some known ammunition (good ole' RP 180's) and compare.

Glenn

You are correct they are reloads , rem 9 1/2 large riffle primers as well as br2 primers which are steel not brass . Last night took 2 resized cases put one of each primer in just to test strike on primers the hit was hard . Harder than any other gun I own it even raised primer out of socket . The reloads are in the bottom 1/3 of speck in reloading manuals . The pin seems to be getting harder with every pull of trigger . Here are two pics of the test remember just the primmer was in case . Thanks Bick

I would start by taking the pin out and checking the spring.

Under the lever is the main spring tension screw. Back it out a little bit. That should lighten the hammer spring. That screw usually should NOT be tightened all the way as it is an adjustment screw. It is common for people to assume it should be tight but that is not the case. It should end your primer problem.
