Hello,
I bought a volquartsen bull barrel for a 10/22 i am custom making. I want to add sights to it and have to cut a dovetail. Here is my practice attempt. My next try i will not cut so deep with a hacksaw and will use painters tape around the area.

Looks good . How did u keep it plumb . Or centered ?

Good question. From what I read they said to use a square. Which I only used at the beginning. (Probably should have used it more now that you mention it).

Looks good. Good thinking trying it first on cold rolled . Get your system down . Figure out what works ...
