Default DIY project?

After 2 months they finally have a "HAMMER SPRING D VERSION" in stock for a beretta 92FS and its being shipped. I was wondering how easy it is to replace the stock spring in there. I'm not a excellent gunsmith in any respect but I could easily replace stock parts in this pistol I have become quite familiar with it. Would you recommend I save the 26 miles I have to travel and $40 I have to spend to do this project myself? Of the people I have seen do this, they said it was easy and it didn't look that difficult. But anyone can make nuclear physics look easy if they know how to do it. Let me know your guys'/gals thoughts are.

You may want to check with the guys over at the Beretta Forum. There's the usual fanboy stuff, but there's a gaggle of information there.

Here's a very informative site that has step by step videos. You can view the videos for free, he asks for a donation (optional) or if you choose to do so, you can order the DVD from him shipped for $12 in the US. I have no connection with the seller. A friend needed a repair on one and I ran across his website while searching for dis-assembly procedure.
