Covering scratch on new rifle's barrel

I just bought a new Weatherby last week- had it home for a couple hours & laid a nasty scratch almost an inch long on the barrel. Will one of the kits that Midway sells for blackening barrels cover this or do I get to live with it? ( and yes, I'm still kicking myself  )

Brownells has touch up markers that are supposed to work well. The birchwood cold blue is kinda hit and miss sometimes it works other times it just makes matters look worse

wow that must suck, my grandpa would just live with it it gives the rifle character. How bad is the scratch, is it hair line or is it a giant grand canyon type scratch?

It's really just a hairline, but it's nice & bright.

Keep it protected and live with it.

If you're inclined to draw to an inside strait, I'd call Weatherby's CS and ask them what you can do. Who knows, you may draw a sympathetic ear. (and the strait)

Just remember, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
