Converting Remington 700 ADL

Hello, this is my first post, and I don't know much at all about gunsmithing.
I was wondering if it possible to convert a Remington 700 ADL .308 to a .270 by just chaning the barrel? If not, what would need to be done to change it to a .270? Any info anyone can offer will be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

you have a short action and the 270 requires a long action. buy another gun.

Think Hiwall nailed that one. The .270 is based on the 30-06 cartridge- longer than the .308. 30-06 and longer- LONG action. .308 and shorter- Short action. It will not fit.
