Default Charter Arms AR-7 scope mount

a co-worker wants to mount a red-dot on his AR-7. He still wants to be able to store it away in the stock, so I'm guessing he wants a quick release, return to zero setup. Just wondering if anyone had seen a setup like this. On one hand I want to tell him just to go buy a Henry Ar-7 but on the other hand I want to give the optional solution.

I have not seen such a setup (but I'm not saying it can't be done).

I'm just wondering what he is going to do with the red-dot when the firearm is stored in the stock.

I am known to lose things if they are not tied together.
