Default Can a aics .300 win mag clip be modified to run a .270 win?

The title says it all, I have a Remington 700 sps in .270 win
I am currently looking into a J Allen Enterprise stock which runs the AICS magazine. AICS do not make Magazine's to suit .270 win and I would like to know if the .300 win mag clips can be modified for a .270 win? as the bullet dimensions are similar.

Thanks in advance for all your help .

A clip is used to load the magazine
(and do you mean case or bullet?)

If the body of both casings is of the same diameter, it should work as is.
Otherwise the lips of the magazine may be tweaked. But tweaking can also make the magazines useless. Be careful.

The .270 win case diameter is 0.042" or 1.07mm smaller than the .300 win mag. In your opinion do you think this will work?

Try it. 1mm is not that much, but 1mm can be too much.

I wouldn't try it if I was you. It's a job for a competent gunsmith as .300 Win Mag cases are belted and fatter than the .270 case. Your gunsmith may have to even cut the magazine in 1/2 lengthwise and remove a small amount of steel before welding back together.

Just wondering if anyone has modified magazines of any caliber?
How did it go?
