buffing and blueing

I was wondering if the compound that is used for buffing could cause any problems with blueing. I am new to both blueing and buffing so i'm kind of learing as I go.

Thanks

It won't hurt the steel in regards to bluing it. You want to be sure to get all the buffing compound off before you try to blue it however.

Like bear said. Use a HEAVY duty degreasing agent. Wear gloves and it should come out looking good.

buffing

if you use a power buffer be careful. let the wheel do the work. stay away from lettering, and watch edges.
