Default Bersa Thunder 380 mods.

I cannot leave anything alone. I am curious if anyone here has modded a Bersa. I have not shot mine yet but I went ahead and pulled the clip/trigger lock bar and looking to mod for higher capacity in the clip and a trigger job. A few things I will wait until I shoot a few through it to make sure all is good with it.

I was able to mod all my std cap Glock M22 clips to high cap but looks like the Bersa clip is truly 1 row so maybe only a spring mod is all I can do with it. I am not real sure what the hi cap Bersas do to increase capacity.

I'd recommend leaving the mag alone-if you modify it you MAY reduce reliability and void the warranty. You're not going to gain much on a single stack anyway. Try the trigger like it is until you've broken it in-it may smooth up with use and of course you'll void the warranty if you bought it new. After you've determined the trigger still needs modification then go easy lest you modify it too much and lose reliability. Check to see if Wolff offers a spring kit for it.

I thought the hicap used a double-stack mag and a slightly fatter grip?

Well, I just popped off 40 rounds in this gun. ran Tula ammo and had 2 misfires in that 40. Not yet sure of the cause but betting on the ammo right now. However, both failed rounds had a pretty shallow strike in them. Probably should have inspected the spent cases more but was in tall grass and hard to find.

The gun seems accurate but not as accurate as my Beretta 70S and I think mostly due to the piss poor trigger feel and stiff EVERYTHING. Maybe I am one of those pansies that needs a smooth gun to hit anything. With enough effort on my part, I could get it where I wanted it but with my normal attack, I was all over the place with it. A friend agreed, way too stiff to enjoy.

I could shoot 1M rounds through it or just rework the trigger and such and get things to smooth out.

You are correct. I have a Bersa 7 round single stack, and 15 round double stack in .380, and the Bersa Thunder .22 10 round. Nice little guns.

I think I just prefer a little lighter trigger than usually comes factory in a pistol these days. however, I compared my Beretta to the Bersa and the Beretta seems a little heavier but is very smooth and predictable therefore I have no problems with accuracy with it.

On the bersa, I continually shot low yet there is no way to adjust the height of the sight that I saw. Hopefully I can figure that out. I am a lefty ya know so some things are just different and need a little adjusting.

with pocket guns like 380s long as it is +-3 inches your good to go. its far more important to be smack on center left/right than it is to be up or down. they arent target guns. with a selfdefense gun the vertical critical zone is around 12 inches while the horizontal is about 6 inches. think of it base of the rib cage to the top of the head vertical with the horizontal the distance from nipple to nipple not much room to be off in the horizontal
