AMT Backup 380/9mm Kurz Pistol

I bought one as a project. They are known to fail to feed & fail to extract and jam.
My first thought is to try different springs. Anyone have any suggestions or expierence with the AMT backup?

Is it a 1st or 2nd generation back up? You might be able to get parts from this guy:MIKES GUNSMITHING...562-984-2529....Good luck...John

My mother has carried one for years. Never had a problem with it as far as I know.

I doubt the springs are the problem. They seldom are.

AMT had a lot of problems with galling. They were the first to use stainless steel in mass produced self loading pistols. Try Rig Lube +P. Specially made for stainless steel.

I had the same cleaning problems too. Because the gun is so difficult to brake down. I cleaned it with a can of Blake cleaner. Once it dryed I then lubed it with spray oil then buffed. Been fireing flausly since
