Ammo reloads
1 Attachment(s)
So I just reloaded my first .223 round using Hodgdon H335 powder. I am not a big fan of the plastic tip on the hornady bullet since it's difficult to get an accurate read (tip is variable). I used an RCBS reloading press.

This is a very cool hobby.

Hornady make a compatitor that will fit on your calipers, they measure from the bullet ogive which is a far more accurate reading.

So I had some concerns about length of rounds. I have about 8 rounds of .223 that measure less than 55.60mm. Factory rounds vary too, averaging 55.76-55.70 so I try to keep my tolerances within those specs. The plastic tip are poor choices in my opinion. I'll be buying the standard tips from here on out.

I am enjoying myself and learning a lot about rounds in general. Next I plan on reloading some .40cal. I'd do the 9mm but rounds are cheaper to buy.

Reloaders DO NOT save any money they just SHOOT MORE.
