1911 reloads

I reloaded a few 180 gr. FN cast bullets for my 1911. The OAL is 1.190 and it seems that one out of every 4-6 doesn't feed right.

Any suggestions?

Is that minimum Oal ?

I'd have to go back and look. I went by what was suggested in the Lyman book.

If it helps any - I have a Springfield 1911. My buddy has an Ruger 1911 and it won't feed at all.

As of now I have 6.4 gr of Unique and worried about the pressure if I seat them further.

New to reloading...

If they are set at minimum Oal then you have some leeway to pull them out a bit. I assume they are snagging on the flat.

U may need do go longer on oal or your crimp is not proper look at your brass for nicks on the rim of the cases

Update. Made some dummy rounds with the OAL 1.190 and actually had a bullet hang up in the barrel, got stuck and when I ejected it, the empty casing came out and the bullet was stuck in the barrel.

The previous ammo I loaded was 1.178.

I previously loaded 230 gr RN lead bullets at 1.270 and never had an issue.

I just made more dummies at 1.172 and they don't hang up. My Lyman book does not have minimum OAL.
