Does anyone know how to reduce the mag release spring tension.

I normally say not to cut springs, but that is what you may have to do.

But, before cutting, purchase another. Should you cut too much off the original, you would then have a second that should work and keep your firearm functional.

Another thing to do is to make sure that the mag release is not "hanging" on something.

How much to reduce? It varies. If it is used as a carry piece, then I would prefer heavy to avoid accidental mag release. If used on the range only, check that holstering does not activate the button, and that it has enough to retain the mag.

No its a friend of mine and he uses for competitions. But I seen midway USA has a spring kit. I might try that before I cut springs. Thanks for advice

another option would be an over-sized mag release button. would increase the leverage used to relaease the mag. check out Brownell's or MidwayUSA. they carry several types that are used by competition shooters. and i as suggested, check for any binding or restriction. cutting springs would be the last resort.

Is it a new gun? If so, they tend to smooth out and ease up a bit with use. Also a careful cleaning and lubrication of the assembly can be a big help.

Wolff reduced power mag release springs work well. I prefer the #2 myself, not too soft or too hard. Kind of a Goldie Locks choice!
