would like to know whats legal at a college?
my girlfriend is going to UNC greensboro I love in Maryland and would like her to have something to keep her safe. what is legal and the best thing for her to keep herself safe?

most college campuses dont allow firearms
maybe some mace? or taser?
best to ask the university yourself

Thats a tough question, depends on the colleges rules, whether she is a permanant resident of the state, permit laws,etc.etc. I would start with the campus rules, then research the rest.

UNC will not allow most of anything its crazy
less than lethal weapons are not allowed it scares me having her go down there with nothing

Until you find out what she can carry with her, perhaps you could interest her in some softball equipment (works on other balls also) for her dorm room and car.

Here in LA a baseball bat in the car will not go over well with the PD. I have a four D cell Mag Light in my car. I gave the GF a three cell for her car.

I am betting even the college would not be opposed to someone carrying a normal, ordinary pocket knife.
If they were, just put it in her purse and no one should be the wiser unless she gets searched going to a basketball game or something.
There are a lot of good, easy to deploy knives out there, but two that I have given to females in my past were the:

Currently my woman has her own handgun and CCL, but for her purse, when she is going places that the pistol might not be welcome, like her workplace, she always has one of these on her person.
