I carry the SOG trident and the leatherman wave.

Sometimes I'll carry a mantis karambit as a self defense knife

I just got a leatherman that is 420HC. It's not bad at all man. I love my newest knife it's the wingman 14 tools in one

I got the pair for $30 or so...a bargain for being USA Gerbers. Fixed blades so not real good EDC.

I carry the Benchmade 585 mentioned above but with a serrated blade. They lock closed if you want, fly open with the spring assistance, lock open perfectly and the lock is reinforced with another mechanism at your discretion. Great blade shape, love the serrations -- really effective. The steel is great quality and the whole thing is just the right size and weight for me. The cheapest guy I know in the world got one after playing with mine...

The only thing I don't like is the scales -- they are hard Valox and a little slippery but you still get good purchase on the ergonomic grips.
