I'll carry a spork in my back pocket. Really though, I wish this idiot would grow a pair and sign an order. Then we can get this whole thing settled once and for all.

He stopped short of saying it a few minutes ago.

The good news is there are only a few of you fellows who are running up the white flag. Most of us are planning to keep our 2 amendment rights we are going to fight and not fold as we have always done. I think we should plan on legal select fire M 16s in the next few years. Anyone who sees only a kitchen knive in there future has already lost the will to fight. Did you see the Brits post carry nothing what did that attitude get them?

From the transcript of tonight's speech by President Obama.

"In the coming weeks, I’ll use whatever power this office holds to engage my fellow citizens, from law enforcement, to mental health professionals, to parents and educators, in an effort aimed at preventing more tragedies like this, because what choice do we have? We can’t accept events like this as routine.

Are we really prepared to say that we’re powerless in the face of such carnage, that the politics are too hard?

Are we prepared to say that such violence visited on our children year after year after year is somehow the price of our freedom?"

Concerning to say the least!!!

It got them a 600% increase in violent crime.

No matter what B.S. you hear on the internet or at your local gun store, the President can not use executive orders to make laws. That still needs a Congressional session and vote of at least 2/3 rds to make a law.

Until 1952, there were no rules or guidelines outlining what the president could or could not do through an executive order. However, the Supreme Court ruled in Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer, 343 US 579 (1952) that Executive Order 10340 from President Harry S. Truman placing all steel mills in the country under federal control was invalid because it attempted to make law, rather than clarify or act to further a law put forth by the Congress or the Constitution. Presidents since this decision have generally been careful to cite which specific laws they are acting under when issuing new executive orders.

I don't really understand this mentality, I have been taught since I was a young child that our Bill of Rights is exactly that, the rights of the citizens of this country which the government cannot take away. They can amend the Constitution about all kinds of things however they cannot amend away the rights afforded us by the Bill of Rights. That is taught in basic civics class, at least it was when I was in school, maybe it isn't anymore, I don't know, but I have been able to find plenty of websites in the last 10 minutes which explain that fact easily enough for an 8 year old child to understand.
As for what I will carry, I will carry the same thing I do now, any law stating I cannot is unconstitutional no matter what amendments they pass.
