My dog won't let anyone walk near the house without letting us know about it. In the house I have a collapseable baton, my EDC Kershaw knife, baseball bat, and any number of improvised weapons that are handy.

On the weekends, my girl friend's sister is my HD weapon (teenager, and can be pretty scary when you wake her). Aside from that, either my 12 pump or a bat (both next to my bed).

When I was a kid we had a German Shepard trained in the Sicilian way. Benito didn’t bark or growl. He would wag his tail and let anyone in, but would rip them apart if they tried to leave. You’d come home and learn who your enemies were.

My father was old school.

I got a few machetes and swords around the house machetes find time on my belt in the woods, swords are for cutting up random stuff for fun, Bottles, water jugs, and the like. They would be devastating on a intruder.

But frankly Im a bit old and less than healthy to be flailing about with chunks of steel when heh there is a .357 S&W with my name on it and a 12 ga pump cop shotgun (ret) right there. The dog died recently and I need to get another...
Sounds like the criminal could adequately arm
himself as he goes through the house. Just joking around but that is why I don't believe in having a firearm for HD anywhere but by my bed. I don't like the idea of arming an unarmed criminal.
