I guess it depends on a lot of factors.... I threw (my friend threw) ammonia in some kids face when they came onto our property trying to jump us. The cop that showed up said we were fine, and we should've shot them.

If you have a choice, use pepper spray because it is non-lethal, which means you can use it is a variety of less-than-life and limb-threatening situations . But what if the pepper spray is illegal ? I'd still choose it over breaking federal law and doing permanent harm with wasp spray . And if some cop recommended wasp spray, so what ? Cops are wrong sometimes . By the way, what's the Internet cop's name ?
( I smell another Internet hoax )

But if a wasp comes into my house, I'll shoot him with wasp spray . If he flies back outside, I'll drag him back into the house and say he died inside the house and I'll plant one of my kitchen knives in his little grasp . A police officer told me to do that .

in a situation of life or death, i'll use anything i can get my hands on to defend myself. the welfare of some scumbag that was intent on doing me harm, is of little concern to me at all.

when we go to the stance of worrying about the welfare of some person, who wants to do harm to others, for whatever reasons, then we seem to have taken a step backwards in regards to our own personal safety and are putting the rights of the BG ahead of his victim or potential victim.

Here's what Snopes has on this :
http://www.snopes.com/crime/prevent/waspspray.asp

" In a life-and-death situation... "
George Zimmerman found out you can be right and have your life ruined . If GZ had used pepper spray, his legal problems might be less severe . Just food for thought ( peppers being food, after all ) .

Is that a Swingline 747 stapler? That would smart plenty if wielded in anger.

If you don't have a gun, and even if you do, here's a way to wreck someone's evil plans for you. Did you know this? I didn't. I never really thought of it before. I guess I can get rid of the baseball bat.

Wasp Spray -- A friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead.

The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to you and could overpower you. The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. Thought this was interesting and might be of use.

On the heels of a break in and beating that left an elderly woman in Toledo dead, self defense experts have a tip that could save your life.

Val Glinka teaches self-defense to students at Sylvania Southview High School . For decades, he's suggested putting a can of wasp and hornet spray near your door or bed.

Glinka says, "This is better than anything I can teach them."

Glinka considers it inexpensive, easy to find, and more effective than mace or pepper spray. The cans typically shoot 20 feet; so if someone tries to break into your home, Glinka says "spray the culprit in the eyes". It's a tip he's given to students for decades.

It's also one he wants everyone to hear If you're looking for protection, Glinka says look to the spray. "That's going to give you a chance to call the police; maybe get out." Maybe even save a life.

Please share this with all the people who are precious to your life.

Did you also know that wasp spray will kill a snake? And a mouse! It will! Good to know, huh? It will also kill a wasp!!!
And best of all, immobilize a human.
From an academic standpoint, it is true. It is a well known powerful insecticide, and is also related to sarin. Keeping this highly toxic substance in a pressurized can at your bedside is an extravagant choice. And don't count on it to immobilize a human in a hurry.

It is one of those things that excite people on the internet. I am not going to argue, because we are on the internet.
