Marbles work great too. I used to have cats sitting on a wooden fence at night howling. I started just shooting the fence underneathe where they were. When that marble hit the fence it sounded like a bomb going off. Had a few cats come back twice, but none more than that.
Worked great! Nobody's pet got hurt and the problem went away.

Marbles are great for Dirty Tricks and payback. They shatter on impact with a hard surface and obliterate any evidence of wrong doing. They work wonders on car windows....I won't elaborate but the statute of limitation has expired on that one.

They works wonders on elaborately etched front window panes of a certain small town insurance company as well. Also outside the statute of limitations.

I can't speak for JD, but you did not want to get on my bad side. I think I was a contributing editor to the book "Dirty Tricks".
And, when that did not work, a good, honest, face to face butt kicking was always acceptable.
A certain North Houston car dealership had the darndest luck. Losing a windshield or two every 3-6 weeks (repeat as necessary). Always under their insurance deductable. Security guards on station cut into the bottom line but never caught sight of the cause of the broken glass. Finally went belly up after the owner's son was indicted in Florida for kidnapping his kids and fleeing the country (he was such a scumbag to work for).

You guys are whimps. We were making crossbows out of leafsprings and 6x6 timbers. We made potatoe guns, golf ball guns. Golf balls really go far when you put 150psi behind them.
I was known to make other things as well like homemade napalm using tide and gas, homemade blackpowder. Among other things.
NOTE: never dump a little pyrodex on to a fire. I did that once damn near lost my hand to that one. Burned the heck out of it. I was not totaly stupid I did look away when I did it.
If I was a kid today I would be on the FBI, CIA, DHS watch list.

Heck, when I was a little kid, I used to make homemade stinger missiles and shoot 'em at the cows out back my farm. Then we'd eat what was left.
Then when I got bored, and would run over to the neighbors (which was 15 miles away...uphill both ways) and we would set each other on fire, and play fireman.
lol

Stat of limitaions, or the fifth, depending on where it landed....
I carry a slingshot when I kayak. Small, light, I carry some real ammo, but for general get the hades out of here, rocks work. It's waterproof, can be replaced for a few bucks, and not really good for felony crimes, (other than repetitive property damage).
