Anyone seen Benning?? *looking around for his brother of the blade*
So, I got the new Blu-Ray Definitive Director Edition of one of my favorite movies of all time: 1992's Last of the Mohicans directed by Michael Mann.
Man, this is a great movie and in BluRay it is absolutely STUNNING!!
I have seen this movie, I kid you not, over 100 times start to finish. I love the story and I love the weapons.
Once again, I am finding myself without something I see a use for when the Space Zombies come.
I want to make an Ultimate Tomahawk. One that can be used to split a skull, but isn't so damn heavy that you can't carry it overload or so small that you have to get TOO friggin close to use it.
Judging by a lot of research previously and tonight, this handle needs to be about twice the length of my forearm, and I feel I might want it to be break resistant in case I REALLY need to do some prying.
Now, I have done some looking around the forum. I know that TXNorton got a couple of axes/hawks recently and he posted a link to a guy, but it would appear his workload is just fine right now and he isn't taking custom work.
I found these threads:
So I sent an e-mail to the guy and asked him if he is accepting work and asked him to come back to us.
Don't know if he is willing or able.
So, I am thinking FTF needs to offer some input into this tomahawk creation and of course there will be mandatory testing with lots of pictures, a final endorsement and where it can be improved, if at all.
I would prefer to stay away from someone else's pre-constructed notion of what this tomahawk should be.
I don't want Damascus or any safe queen material, I am looking for a steel that will take a razor's edge and scalp a zombie if I am so inclined.
So, who has some thoughts ( positive thoughts that is ) on what would make The Ultimate Tomahawk and what would you like to see tested??
Pictures would help, especially if we are going to incorporate several designs into this unit.
