I actually forgot about that right out of the gate, so no it didn't I'm sorry to say. It has had blood in since that day of testing though, so I am hoping to balance the ju ju out over time. :embarrassed:

I keep this with my BOB: tactical wakizashi. It's extremely durable, fast, light, very sharp OOTB and a good length (blade 20", overall 31"). Full tang. Can be found for under $200 online.

If you want something more versatile go with a good kukri or machete.

Completely unrelated side note. Hallucinogens are bad for you, just sayin.
In case you haven't already found this link:

Battle-ready modern tactical swords. Should have something there that would meet your needs.

Just on the note of practice with swords, hardwood bokkens are pretty cheap and surprisingly decent cardio and upper body workout. Plus, I dont have to worry about cutting my pups tail off (or anything else) by accident. If you buy a sword, spend the little bit extra for a similar weight/balanced bokken to practice with.

Onikiri Katana. Handmade Japanese carbon steel, differentially tempered with real hamon line. Blade is HRC 18, shinogi (edge) is HRC 45. You can get 'em lots of places online for well under $100. A little touchup with a ceramic crock stick -- I mean a LITTLE -- and it's scary sharp. Be careful.

Yeah, I know; too good to be true. What can I tell you? I have one and I love it. Not fancy at all, but it's the real deal.

Wouldn't bother with the halberd. Too clumsy. Just go get a decent axe and be done with it. Multi-purpose and can still use it in day to day life if you want to go camping until Zombie-Day occurs.

You can also get into Chan Bara. Most Karate dojos teach it now. It was pretty new back in 2005, and I won state and national in it for my age group, not that that's saying too much.
