Default Stanley Fubar forcible entry tool

Hi all I realize its more of a tool than a weapon but what are your thoughts on one of these as a tool for bugging out? Also if any of you have one how does it compare to the fubar fatmax you can get for half the price?

I have a axe and a breaker bar in my BOB. You will need to get through doors and gates that are locked but not necessarily occupied or even owned anymore. Also, these tools make entry "neater" without breaking more of the door than necessary or using ammo to blow hinges and lock. Being able to re secure the door after entering may make it a functional shelter when not torn apart. Definitely a useful purchase if you're on the move and having to make use of resources on the way.

What does it do and how do you use this tool?

It is a combination pipe wrench and wrecking bar that does neither job very well for $145. Anything it does one could do with a giant pair of channel locks and a wrecking bar. I just bought a 6' long 16lb wrecking bar for $35. You can find a pair of giant channel locks in the bargain tool bin at tractor supply for $20 or less.

i'm thinking he's more interested in something a bit more compact and portable for his BOB that a 6 foot wrecking bar. granted the 6 foot wrecking bar is more useful and better suited, but sometime in the interests of weight savings and practical need this may be a better option. not the proper tool for day in, and day out use for a wrcking bar, where the 6 foot version is the better choice, but for occasional use, this seems the better choice.

I'm looking at the 18 in model so about $80 and i was thinking of attaching it to my bag the way i've seen some military guys do with halligan bars. Just out of curiosity have you gotten the chance to try one and do you think it would work in a pinch.

I don't like the damnable things. I think they are the only left handed tools made. Particularly the 18-inch.

The claws at the end of the handle are orientated so that if you try to swing the hammer head at anything, they graze your wrist, as you snap it to add force to the drive.

Dignity, Honor, and Respect: At least until they do something so dishonorable, or disrespectful that your left so indignant you have to rip their head off.
