Set of Matching Cheyenne Bowie Blade Knives with Deer Antler Handles

1 Attachment(s)
A customer wanted to provide his own Whitetail deer antlers for knife handles. He selected the long Cheyenne bowie blades for the knives. I wasn't sure how well they matched. Normally, I would have used handles with a greater circumference. The end of the antler that meets the guard was almost exactly the same diameter as the width of the blade. If the handles were 1/16-inch smaller around, they would not have been big enough to cover the slot in the guard. He is having his name engraved on one knife blade and a friend's name engraved on the other. It's the first time I provided that. The knives are 15 1/2 inches long over all in a straight line.

Very Nice. What is the biggest knife you make? Is there any you do with an 18" blade and overall 24", somewhere like that? Just wondering.

That ought to be an interesting fantasy piece considering PH died 21 years before the first Bowie knife.:D

Haven't seen any steel blanks for blades 18-inches long.
