This EK Commando served me well in Mogadishu.
One piece, lightweight and holds an edge.

But do you know how Texas law defines these knives. For instance, they include any double edged knife, or any knife with a sharpened false edge on the top. A "bowie" knife can be under the 5.5 inch legal length.

Say what you want, but it's hard to beat a Cold Steel folding knife like the Voyager.

I like a Schrade Sharpfinger for a working, skinning and self defense knife. The blade is 3.5" which is legal almost everywhere. When I am carrying a gun OWB the knife rides well in between the holster and a magazine pouch. I buy black holsters and magazine pouches. The leather sheath is easy to spot if I am disoriented.

Those are nice knives. For a while they were made by Mike Stewart of the Blackjack and Bark River fame.

Oklahoma and I'm aware of the dagger and Bowie definitions. I'm not looking for anything fancy. Im looking at the SOG growl or Tangle. I'm gonna check out Herbertz when I can

Rather than the Herbertz, I would go on something like ebay, and find a vintage Gerber Guardian -- not the new stuff, but one from the 80's when Gerber made good products. 440C steel.

I know it's not relevant. However, here are a couple of my favorite KaBars.

The Korean War one is special to me due to my grandfather being a Korean War vet.

The other one is small little one. Well about half size.

CT - dirk knife is prohibited and google search = 17th century Scot. Officers knife - most 12" in length w one false edge often w jimping. There is a separate Naval Dirk which seems more of a short sword of varying lengths.

Internet search - legalese for dagger or double edged knife.

Anyone have any experience ?
