Recent Knives I've Made and Sold and Reminiscing
Gee, I hope this doesn't bore you. The knife orders keep coming. I've come a long way since I put that first blade in a deer's jaw bone. Then, I basically just cut antlers, drilled a hole and stuck in a blade. Heck, I didn't understand the fine art of sanding and polishing. I never put an end cap on an elk antler, or left skull bone on the burr of a deer antler to carve and polish. I didn't bevel the sides of the antler until they were flush with the bolster or guard. I didn't know how to haft a handle for a flint knapped obsidian blade knife. I didn't know how to stain an antler. I've also learned a great deal about buying, cutting, grinding and polishing steel blanks for blades. I used to have an inventory of 20 knives and try to sell them on eBay and lost money every time. Now, I know the knife is sold for a small profit before I ever make it - except for two obsidian blade knives listed on the Forum's Vendor Display that I can't give away. I guess I'll have to advertise them on craigslist or something. Anyway, here's some photos from orders I've recently filled.
1. Guthook blade knife with a deer antler handle.
2. Bowie knife with a 10-inch blade and elk antler handle.
3. Obsidian blade knife with an elk antler handle.
4. Drop point blade knife with an elk antler handle.
5. Modified military fighting blade knife with an elk antler handle.
Thanks for letting me share my thoughts. Now, who wants those two unsold knives?

Very nice!
There is a blade smith down the road from me. I love stopping by and seeing what he's up to.

Beautiful work! I'm reminded of that everyday. I love my marble obsidian and my patch knife. Thanks again!
