Does the Texas law on concealed weapons address knives at all- or firearms?

Is there a city ordinance about knives?

The Virginia concealed weapons law does address all sorts of nasty items- years ago had one rookie trying to write a kid up that had a forked stick type slingshot. The Virginia law prohibited carrying (among other things) a slungshot. Slingshot and slungshot are two different critters.

Originally a weight (shot) wrapped in cord (monkey's fist) used by sailors to heave a line- also used as a striking implement.
Wait what? I make those things all day long.
Pass them out to friends.

Humm? Bet you can not carry a Bowie knife into the Alamo? Old Jim Bowie is looking down with a tear in his eye.

Mosin- a Monkey's Fist- no problem. But slip a 1 inch lead grapeshot in there, and wear it hanging down inside your trousers with the end of the cord sticking out of your belt.... In Virginia, you have a problem!

BTW, if you can find an old time airborne soldier, ask if they ever know anyone that kept emergency money under the glider patch on their dress uniform cap.

Someone (we blame the Navy) started an ugly rumor about Airborne soldiers that had a silver dollar slipped under the patch. Which would up the ante on getting slapped with one of the caps.....

A box cutter is simply another name for a utility knife. It's used in
all manner of construction and maintenance jobs. It can be found in every
mechanic's toolbox and tool-belt. It's a requisite tool of the trade.

And if you don't know the difference between a gravity blade,
and a box cutter, turn in your badge, cuffs, and gun, and go suck
donuts and coffee on your own time, fatso.

As to slungshot, take a soup can, and put it in a plastic shopping bag.
NOW, WHEN are we going to start addressing criminal intent, and
punishing improper behavior?
OR should we simply ban all supermarkets, dollar stores, and
flea markets, too?

Danoobie, donchu be startin' nuffin about the padlock hanging from the shoulder strap on my computer bag. The one with the carabiner on the other end.

The one that TSA has looked at and kept on going at least 500 times.

Why, that is in case I need to lock the computer someplace. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
