This is one of ours. She is a 13 yo Akita/Lab mix. Best dog I've ever had. I found her on the farm when she was about 5 weeks old. She was near death in an icy creek. She is absolutely wonderful. I have watched her on several occasions catch birds flying through the air, squirrels, possums, snakes. She's pretty agile for a 90lb ball of muscle. She can't hardly hear at all and not quite as quick as she once was but she is still a very happy dog and wonderful with my son. The other is a 2yo black lab. (don't have a pic on my phone) She has endless energy and is a very sweet dog. She also is great with my son.

Oscar: 5yo Rottweiler/Shep mix, abandoned shelter dog. Got him around 10 months old. Best bud ever

Tommie: 1yo Collie/Shep mix. Got her as a pup. Great dog too but likes to eat too many shoes

I knew that I was not the only one to love their dog, but it has been very helpfull to see the loving feelings expressed here in this thread. It does not matter what breed, mixed, where from, or how big. They steal your heart forever. Enjoy their love.
My Amber at about 8 months. She passed 7 years later.

LOL - She was that!

Picked her up as a pup on location of a meth house bust. Owner went down on a three strikes and I took the mutt home to clean her up. Hadn't really intended to keep her....

A thread such as this is good medicine for many of us in these turbulent times. Dogs are unconditional in their loyalty and love. Rare qualities indeed.

That Amber was a beautiful dog. I'd wager she brought much into your life.

Holmes, i agree! dogs and cats can bring a much needed brightness into our lives. they offer so much to us, yet ask for so little in return.

Kudos on bringing that dog into your home. that's truly a nice thing you did.
