936. 80% copper , 7% tin, 13% lead, more or less.
The copper alloys are kind of fun to work with. Heat them
to a dull red and quench or let cool---they get SOFT.
Beat on them cold, they get hard (and more brittle).
You can do the heat annealing process multiple times. Don't
get it too hot----we used to heat it with a torch in a darkened
room until it just glowed dull red. You can hammer it to a
hard tough surface that will take a fair edge, although the lead
content in your 936 may work against you. |
