Here is a pic of my laser, it's strong enough to cause plastic to smoke. I have used it to engrave my initials in my phone case

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

This photo makes it look just a hair brighter than it does IRL.

I just got an Armlite 180B w/ only iron sights. I am not sure if I should get red-dot sight or a green laser. Or both mounted for different applications. If one or both are used, are the iron sights still usable? I have never used either one, or had an AR-type carbine before. I was thinking of using the red-dot for 0-50 yds and the green laser @ 75-150 yds in lowlight conditions. I would have the laser on only just before trigger pull and shut it down immediately to limit my visibility to bad boys. Suggestions appreciated...

The iron sites are still usable, as long as they are not obstructed. Some guys run both a laser and a red dot, but I think most prefer to just use the sight. Honestly using an eotech or aimpoint is similar to using a laser. They all put a dot where the bullet should go, but with a red dot nothing gives away your position.
