Kimberfan,,, do you create your own Damascus billets? You seem to have several different patterns in your blades which exhibit fine workmanship and are very pleasing to the eye. I again applaud your excellent work and I hope the fundraiser collects a nice sum to achieve it's goal.

Thank you for the compliments.
I get with 4 or 5 other oldies (ex machinist, smiths and one banker who backed us in the business) once a month and we tie up some steel and together forge billets. We then split it up and make our own stuff...mines better than theirs...(Are you reading this Phil!?! ). You do that when you get old....everyone has their part now We share our ideas and failures so, I won't claim all the patterns. Its a lot of fun and we do enjoy working with each other. The feather pattern is the hardest, splitting and rewelding the billet is tough and well...sometimes we relly blow it on that one too but...hey...laugh it off. Then there's cable damascus...lots of borax on making that stuff.
Yeah, I hope the auction does well for the lad too....our Vets mean a lot to the four or five of us doing this together.

Is the auction online? If so could you post the details? I'd like to help out and bid on that beauty. PM me if possible, thanks.
