Dan308 nice knifes I'm just getting started making a few myself. I make them as a hobby as well but just getting really into it. Here are a few I've done in the past few weeks.

Very nice knives you have there. Do you heat treat them? I say hobby because with all the hours that go into making a knife, you can't get your money out of it.

I draw the steel back then I fire and oil quench them. The steel I use rockwells at a 57, my blades hold up really well. I did just get a decent sized heat treat oven I'm itching to start using.
I make all my own blades I'm currently just doing a lot of stock removal but I hope to be forging tomorrow if all goes well. The steel I use is from industrial saw blades used to cut aluminum. I also have some a2 and o1. I'm wanting to try my hand at some Damascus soon.

that sounds about right. I'm just starting to use S5 steel. That stuff is plenty hard and holds a good edge. I've got some vids on youtube about what I do for heat treating. I also built a little forge and made a vid of that.

I just finished a forge I was trying to get to it today but I had to help my uncle with some stuff. I'm just getting into building and really like it. I have 9 to build ASAP then I'm gonna start building stuff I like and trying to sell it. I really like your file knifes I've seen some of your videos before on you tube I think. I'm always on there looking for info on knife making.
