Obviously, if you are caught committing a crime using any knife, you're in deep doo-doo. But if you commit a crime and merely have a knife on your person, having the knife should not create more problems than you already have. But laws being what they are, you would be wise to consult with a local attorney.
All the Kershaw knives are designed such that the user must manually move the blade a small amount before a spring assist kicks in. This is done specifically to circumvent the pointless "eeeevil switchblade" laws. So unless the laws in Quebec Province or Massachusetts are even more draconian than in other parts of the country, you may be okay.
